OK so TV adverts very rarely annoy me to the point were i can feel my blood boiling!
However, well done to P&G for doing a spectacular job at royally pissing me off!!
Basically its all to do with the Olympics- and shows a mother helping to raise her child to be a star. Does she do this by teaching morals, going to work to pay the bills etc? NO-she does it by spending her time loading the washing machine, ironing, washing up, cooking- you know stereotypical "women work". At the end there shows a man (I assume Dad), sat alongside clapping on his child. The end caption is "Thank you mum".
Now i guess many women wont be pissed off by this, instead they shall feel honoured that P&G have recognised their efforts! Not me! Firstly- where the hell is the husband? Why is he not shown washing up or doing the laundry? Once again this idea has clearly come from a male board of directors, trying to reinforce old fashioned gender roles and stereotypes. It really annoys me, and i have the urge to throw something at the TV!
Second-there are enough factors in the world making the gender divide, really P&G, your input is not needed or wanted.
Next time the advert comes on, watch it closely and you too will see what i mean! Oh and P&G you dont sponsor me!
